Please Don’t Forget To Use This Feature When Publishing A Story

It might be the reason why you’re not seeing organic growth.

Almost every day, I get questions from new Medium writers on how to boost their traffic.

Usually, when I look at their articles, I can immediately spot the problem.

If they’ve been posting consistently and don’t have any glaring errors, then it’s just a matter of how they’re formatting their work.

For example,

Are their titles and/or subtitles kind of bland or too ambiguous for the average reader?

Are they using clickbait, and not delivering on what they promised?

Last but not least:

Are they using tags?

It still blows my mind that newbies often forget to use this feature:

Medium gives you the option of suggesting up to 5 topics that your future audience may be interested in. Honestly, I feel like this is incredibly generous.
